Bhadra Bhagath Subramanian is a writer and independent researcher. They are primarily concerned with cinema form, the aestheticization of politics, and the societal impact of new digital technologies. They are currently based between Germany, the UK, and India.

They have worked as an instructor for writing workshops, and as lead writer and writing mentor on collaborative projects including SISATA Open-Air Theatre’s adaptations of The Tempest. They served as a judge for the first ever Bournemouth Writing Festival in 2023, and served as host for the open-mic series Doppelgänger Dialogues.

Film projects include Letters to the Family, an experimental docufiction short film concerned with reproducing complex narratives through the use of inanimate objects.

They did their BA in English at Bournemouth University, where they focused on Interactive Narrative, New Media, and Spatial Storytelling.

They are currently pursuing an MA in English at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen in Germany with the intent of developing research methodologies for video game studies.

Upcoming projects include a dramatic short film titled Rubric, a board game titled The Ice Train and the Slug King, and a non-fiction piece about the ecological and neurochemical aspects of the games industry.
